PALLISER: This is Ruth Palliser, records, twenty past one in the morning, thirteenth of November. I was told at one o'clock to close up and go home. I have written in the book that I was told and that I did not. I want to say into a machine why, because the book is a book and books get lost. I have worked records for nine years. I count sheets. I counted six observation sheets into the one one four file at twenty past ten and I counted four out of it at ten past eleven. Two sheets left this building between those two times and nobody carried them past me. At a quarter past midnight the power dipped, everything, four seconds, and the ward did not dip. The ward is not on Alton's board and it is not on mine either. I have the electrical certificate in a drawer down here. It certifies seven circuits. There are eight. Dr Kessler came down at twenty to twelve to ask who signed the gel out. He was shaking. I have known that man six years and I have seen him give bad news to families without his hands moving. I told him it was not me and he said, I know it was not you, Ruth, I signed it out myself, I want to know who has written over it. [pause] I am going to stay until Alton comes off at six. [end of note]
